During the summer of 2022 Dyer began working on a biography of Greg Scarpa, a notorious member of the Cosa Nostra Colombo family during the second half of the 20th century. The title of the book is Greg Scarpa, Legendary Evil: The Many Faces of a Mafia Killer. It is published by WildBlue Press and was released on July 22, 2025.
Greg Scarpa, Legendary Evil is a meticulously researched (280 sources), thoroughly annotated (>1,900 endnotes), 100,000+ word biography of a ruthless member of the Colombo borgata of the New York Cosa Nostra who was also an FBI informant for more than 25 years. This biography is a classic tale of loyalty, honor, and betrayal, a tale about living life on one’s own terms despite the constant threat of death for doing so, a story of life outside the law that is simultaneously fascinating and repulsive. On November 15th, the book was selected as a finalist in the true crime category of the 2025 Independent Author Network Book of the Year awards! You can read Chapter 1 of this award-winning book by clicking the “Download Sample Chapter” button on Dyer’s IAN web page.
All four formats (eBook, audio book. hardcover, paperback) of the book are currently available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Copperfield’s Books, Bookshop.org, and many other online booksellers. Or ask your local bookstore to contact WildBlue Press about how to obtain a copy.
