Greg Scarpa, Legendary Evil is a meticulously researched (280 sources), thoroughly annotated (>1,900 endnotes), 100,000+ word biography of a ruthless member of the Colombo borgata of the New York Cosa Nostra who was also an FBI informant for more than 25 years. This biography is a classic tale of loyalty, honor, and betrayal, a tale about living life on one’s own terms despite the constant threat of death for doing so, a story of life outside the law that is simultaneously fascinating and repulsive.
