This morning’s good news is that, as of this writing, Greg Scarpa, Legendary Evil is ranked #3 on Amazon in the category of New Releases, Organized Crime True Stories. The book has been out less than two weeks. During that time WildBlue Press has been doing a good, professional job of promoting it while I’ve been pitching in where I can. About 14 years ago I made a feature-length film. I was working full time so I was already fairly busy. To make sure that I was ready to shoot the movie by the summer of 2011, I resolved to take care of at least one preproduction item every day starting in about October of the previous year. That worked, and by the time I was scheduled to begin filming, I was ready. I’m taking the same approach to promoting Greg Scarpa, Legendary Evil. My publisher provided me with a detailed and lengthy letter describing a host of marketing actions I can take. I’ve resolved to do at least one marketing item every day for the foreseeable future. So far, I’ve kept or exceeded that resolution. It’s difficult to say if my efforts are having a direct effect on sales, but, as they say, it couldn’t hurt. So I’ll keep at it so long as my efforts appear to be paying dividends.
As always, I’ll keep you posted.
